We stumbled upon this gem on a driving trip around Cornwall. It had not appeared on any museum searches, and Alex just happened to see a 'D-Day Centre' sign. This place is quite astonishing. There is a small collection of restored WW2 vehicles, a large central display area and several smaller display rooms. One aspect I appreciated is that it concentrated on the build-up to the invasion and the immense effort that went into it. There were several de-activated small arms you could handle, including a Colt 45 Automatic, a 303, a BAR, a US Carbine and a Thompson. Most surprising was the weight of the Thompson, it's bloody heavy! Fabulous museum and well worth the visit. The Mulberry Caissons out in the harbour were towed there after the war for local use, I believe.
