The Airvan is one of the real feelgood stories of Australian aviation. Gippsland Aeronautics, a well established ag-plane manufacturer and repairer saw the need for an 8-seat utility plane and filled the gap.
Using their experience of high-lift / low-speed aerodynamics from the agricultural aviation field, they designed a new utility aircraft around their existing and proven wing and engine combination.
The result is world-wide sales and certification and even sales into the para-military US Civil Air Patrol (CAP).
It is another case of if it looks good, it is good. It's a handsome aircraft with pleasing proportions.
