Bell205 Walkaround Photos

I took these Bell205 walkaround images on a visit to Helicorp Pty Ltd at Essendon airport, who graciously allowed me access for the purpose.

It is a Bell 205A-1 with a 212 rotor system and an uprated engine. Helicorp use it primarily for lifting and firefighting work. The belly tank you see in these pics costs as much as the aircraft!

I remember watching a 205 installing the top section of the Arts Centre tower here in Melbourne back in the 80s. I was transfixed. I grew up in Canberra and the whump whump of the Iroquois was a part of daily life (No5 Sqdn RAAF was based there) and I hadn't heard that sound since coming to Melbourne. I mentioned this to Roger from Helicorp and he told me it would have been this very chopper that did the job!
