Bell UH-1B A2-384 Walkaround Gallery

Another UH-1B on display at Point Cook is A2-384. This airframe has the distinction of being not only the first Iroquois delivered to the RAAF, but the last UH-1B to be taken off RAAF duties. It was first delivered in October 1962, and it was retired from service and handed over to the museum in June 1985, after 23 years’ service.

This is my favorite Huey colour scheme. I grew up in Canberra with Iroquois’ in this scheme wockering around all the time.

These shots were taken from the public gallery, so access was fairly limited. I am hoping to get some shots of the starboard side in early 2008 when I shoot their new UH-1H, A2-377. Watch this space…
