The National Vietnam Veterans Museum has recently moved into a new, purpose-built complex on Philip Island.

The museum houses many displays telling of the Australian commitment in South Vietnam and a significant collection of vehicles, aircraft and weapons. Aircraft on display include a Bell AH-1G HueyCobra gunship, a Westland Wessex and a GAF Canberra. Vehicles on display include a Centurion MBT, LandRovers and trucks. There is also a 105mm Howitzer on show.

The Vietnam Veterans museum started out as a mobile trailer display that was taken to schools, airshows and other gatherings to increase awareness of Australia’s involvement in the Vietnam War and the part our armed forces played. That trailer still exists and it still fulfills that purpose. This new complex extends that role and is a great monument to our veterans.
