Westland Mk.31 Wessex
Walkaround Gallery

I have a couple of Wessex walkarounds here for you, one nicely restored and the other a “fixer-upper”.

The first set shows the rather unhappy state of our bird down at Moorabbin. As you can see, it is fairly gutted. The second set is a beautifully restored example on display at the Australian Maritime Museum at Darling Harbour in Sydney. It’s a petty ours doesn’t look like that!

The RAN flew 27 HAS Mk.31A Wessex from 1963 with the last being retired in 1991. Many Austraian Wessex served on HMAS Melbourne with HS 817 Sqdn.
